Apenas una hora antes de que iniciara su espectáculo el lunes en Montreal, Canadá, la estrella del pop Lady Gaga canceló su concierto en el Bell Centre de la ciudad, citando una infección respiratoria, que había empeorado en los últimos días, según informó la propia cantante en redes sociales.
El anuncio fue hecho a través de las historias de la cuenta oficial de Lady Gaga en Instagram, poco antes del inicio del concierto.
Lady Gaga, cuyo nombre completo es Stefani Germanotta, dijo en Instagram que llevaba días luchando contra la infección y que había hecho todo lo posible por descansar y recuperarse, pero su estado siguió deteriorándose. “Mi médico me ha aconsejado encarecidamente que no actúe hoy y, para ser sincera, no creo que hoy pudiera ofrecerles la calidad de actuación que se merecen”.
La cantante, de 40 años, dijo sentirse “desconsolada” por cancelar el espectáculo. Y añadió: “Lo siento muchísimo por todos los que hicieron planes para estar allí y apoyarme. Estar en Montreal y actuar para ustedes el jueves y el viernes fue mágico y profundamente significativo. A todos los que iban a venir esta noche, estoy absolutamente desconsolada y lo siento muchísimo”.
Gaga ya había ofrecido conciertos en Montreal el jueves 2 de abril y el viernes 3 de abril, como parte de su gira Mayhem Ball Tour. Después de terminar en Canadá, quedan tres conciertos en la Mayhem Ball Tour, incluidos dos en Saint Paul, Minnesota, y uno en el Madison Square Garden, en la ciudad de Nueva York, el 13 de abril.
