Flydubai is resuming direct flights between Hungary and the United Arab Emirates. Starting July 31, the airline will once again operate flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest (BUD). Initially offering three flights per week, the service will be expanded to daily flights with the winter schedule.
The Dubai-based airline is strengthening its presence in Central and Eastern Europe. By resuming direct flights to Budapest, the airline is responding to sustained high demand, which has grown steadily since it first entered the Hungarian market in 2021.
During the peak season, the reactivated route serves vacationers, business travelers, and the important VFR (visiting friends and relatives) traffic in equal measure.
For flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith, the return to the Hungarian capital is a clear commitment to the market. “The resumption of flights underscores our long-term investment in Hungary and reflects the strong economic and cultural ties between the two nations. Budapest remains one of our most important strategic markets in Europe,” he explained. The renewed service not only offers travelers in the region more choice but also strengthens Dubai’s role as a global hub for business and tourism.
Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at flydubai, is optimistic about the upcoming season.
As we approach the busy fall-winter travel season, this flight connection creates valuable new trade and tourism opportunities in both markets,”
he emphasized.

Through the codeshare partnership with Emirates, travelers can seamlessly access flydubai’s global network with a single ticket and through-check baggage.
This network now includes more than 120 destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Southeast Asia—including popular long-haul destinations such as the Maldives, Thailand, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Oman.
The route will be served by a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. Passengers from Hungary will also benefit from flexible stopover options in Dubai, allowing them to explore the metropolis’s attractions, shopping districts, and family-friendly experiences.

Flight operations will begin on July 31 with three weekly flights (Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays); starting October 25, 2026, the frequency will increase to one daily flight.
The flight lands in Budapest at 9:40 p.m. and departs back to Dubai at 10:40 p.m.
- Fares from Budapest: Round-trip flights in Business Class starting at 802,400 forints (2,231 euros), in Economy Class starting at 182,900 forints (509 euros).
- Fares from Dubai: Round-trip flights in Business Class starting at 15,585 UAE dirhams (3,733 euros), in Economy Class starting at 2,987 UAE dirhams (715 euros).
The flights are now available for booking via the airline’s official website, the airline’s official app, and through affiliated travel agencies and sales partners.

Since its launch in June 2009, flydubai has become a major player in the region’s aviation industry. With a modern, uniform fleet of 97 Boeing 737s (including 68 Boeing 737 MAX 8s and 3 MAX 9s), the airline connects destinations in 58 countries. A key feature of its strategy remains the development of underserved markets. More than 100 routes have been launched to destinations that previously had no direct connection to Dubai. Since its founding, the airline has carried over 137 million passengers.
