<p>An allegedly intoxicated 25-year-old motorist was spotted pouring a bottle of liquid into Lake Michigan after plowing into a motorcycle, killing the woman driving it earlier this week in the Loop, a Chicago traffic crash report said.</p><p>The Chicago woman, who is not being identified because no charges have been filed, was behind the wheel of a Ford Fusion driving south at a high rate of speed in the <a class="Link" href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2026/08/20/motorcyclist-killed-in-loop-collision-with-car-1-in-custody" target="_blank" >400 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive </a>when witnesses saw her rear-end the motorcycle about 11 p.m. Wednesday, knocking the 49-year-old Addison woman off it and leaving her lying in the street, according to the report. </p><p>After the collision, the Ford — with the motorcycle lodged underneath it — burst into flames, jumped the median and ended up facing northbound traffic in the 500 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, according to the report.</p><p>As an off-duty Chicago police officer rushed to render aid to the 49-year-old woman, a witness saw the motorist holding what appeared to be a glass bottle jump out of the car and “run to the lake and pour it into the lake” before returning to her car, according to the report.</p><p></p><p>The still-unidentified Addison motorcyclist was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:52 p.m. A Friday autopsy determined she died of multiple injuries from the crash and her death was ruled an accident, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.</p><p>The driver, who was arrested at the scene, submitted to a breath analysis test, which determined her blood-alcohol was .10, more than .08, which is the legal limit, according to the report.</p><p>The Police Major Accident Investigation Unit is probing the wreck.<br></p>
