Two school employees face charges after a 5-year-old boy climbed over a playground fence at Occoquan Elementary School earlier this month and ran across busy Old Bridge Road.

The incident occurred on Oct. 7 at about 2:13 p.m. at the school at 12915 Occoquan Road, Prince William County police Sgt. Erin Noble said. School staff located the child unharmed and brought him back to campus.
Following an investigation, police on Thursday charged teacher assistant Maira Rehan, 36, of Woodbridge, and special education teacher Kristina Forgas, 28, of Stafford, with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Noble and school officials said.

Police say the two employees were supervising the playground when the child climbed the fence and left the property.
Both women were released on court summonses with pending court dates.
