Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that Israel’s military will widen its invasion of southern Lebanon.
Mr Netanyahu claims the expansion is an attempt to defeat Hezbollah, insisting he is determined to change the situation in the north.
Lebanon’s Minister of Social Affairs Hanin Sayyed says the expansion could lead to further displacement.
“I absolutely deplore what is happening. We’re very concerned as a government. Further expansion or even existing presence of Israeli troops inside Lebanese territory is a violation of Lebanese sovereignty,” she said.
