Victoria’s emergency watchdog has delayed a key inquiry into the deadly summer bushfires.
Inspector-General for Emergency Management Dr Emily Phillips will not begin the probe until later this year, despite it being ordered by Premier Jacinta Allan during the crisis.
Dr Phillips says the inquiry will wait for findings from a separate parliamentary investigation commissioned by the state’s upper house.
