    On Monday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán instructed Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to summon Sándor Fegyir, Ukraine’s ambassador to Hungary. 

    Viktor Orbán stated that last week, Ukrainian political leaders, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, made grossly offensive and threatening statements against Hungary and the Hungarian government.

    Our national security agencies have assessed this latest Ukrainian attack and concluded that it is part of a coordinated series of Ukrainian measures aimed at interfering in the Hungarian elections,”

    the Prime Minister said.

    He emphasized that we cannot allow anyone to endanger Hungary’s sovereignty or the integrity of the Hungarian elections.

    “Today, I instructed FM Péter Szijjártó to summon Ukraine’s ambassador to Hungary for a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” said PM Viktor Orbán.

    Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated during his speech at the World Economic Forum held in Davos that “every Viktor who lives on European money while selling out European interests deserves a slap on the wrist.” His insults prompted a quick response from Prime Minister Viktor Orbán himself, who emphasized that the Ukrainian President “has crossed a line.”

    On Monday, Foreign Affairs Minister Péter Szijjártó pointed out that “a new phase has begun in the preparations for the Hungarian elections, as the Ukrainians have openly and shamelessly begun their very harsh interference.”
