Convicted killer Christa Pike has been left hospitalised after seven lethal injection needles failed to execute her.
Pike’s attorney revealed that the killer is receiving life-saving care and asked Tennessee Governor Bill Lee to commute her sentence.
Pike’s botched execution in Nashville came just over thirty years after she was convicted of murdering her classmate, Colleen Slemmer, in 1995.
Pike’s lawyer, Randy Spivey, said the 50-year-old “is alive” but can't provide a thorough update on her health.
The attorney explained that Pike was injected several times to get the fluid working, with one needle even coming out bent after being removed from her arm.
