Audi Hungaria has begun production of a new high-performance gasoline engine featuring state-of-the-art technology. The new V6 Otto EVO LK3, manufactured at the Győr engine plant, is the company’s most powerful gasoline engine, delivering 375 kW of power and 600 Nm of torque for an unparalleled RS experience.
The new six-cylinder Otto EVO LK3 engine is a key component of the company’s long-term strategy: it expands the engine manufacturing portfolio, ensures stable capacity utilization in the coming years, and underscores the technological expertise of the Győr-based company (northern Hungary).

“The launch of production of the new V6 Otto EVO LK3 is another milestone in Audi Hungaria’s 33-year history. This high-performance power unit embodies both the engineering expertise and flexibility of powertrain manufacturing in Győr. With this project, we are further strengthening our role within the global powertrain network of the Audi and Volkswagen Groups,” said Peter Will, Member of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria responsible for powertrain manufacturing.
The new engine differs from previous six-cylinder gasoline engines in more than 60 components and features developments such as increased fuel pressure to 350 bar, electrically adjustable turbine geometry, and integrated charge air cooling. These developments enable greater efficiency, faster response times, and, at the same time, higher performance.
The development of the V6 engine family took place in close collaboration with Audi’s headquarters in Ingolstadt. Audi’s latest V-engines—including the V6 TFSI evo LK3, which debuted in the Audi RS5—were developed under a new working model. The development teams in Győr and Neckarsulm have been working closely together since 2021, sharing responsibility for the creation of the engines. During this international collaboration, engineers worked in various pairings, creating an extremely inspiring, cross-border engineering environment.

The new V6 gasoline engine represents a significant technological advancement. Thanks to the two fuel pumps, increased injection pressure, the electrically adjustable turbocharger geometry, and the charge air cooling integrated into the intake manifold, the engine offers high performance, quick response, and favorable fuel economy all at once. During the engine’s development, numerous technical challenges had to be overcome—including new mounting points for the turbocharger, the design of the integrated cooling systems as pre-assembled units, and the modification of the camshaft positions. These measures are crucial for meeting the EURO 7 standard and also demonstrate the high level of expertise of Audi Hungaria’s engineers.
Audi Hungaria is one of Hungary’s leading automotive companies and a key competence center serving the 35 production plants of the Audi and Volkswagen Group. The company has produced more than 1.5 million powertrains in 2025 and more than 46 million since its inception.
