This summer, Bahart is welcoming visitors to Lake Balaton with peak-season services extended through the end of August, more frequent departures, popular sightseeing cruises, and convenient water connections linking 17 towns—all while celebrating its 180th anniversary.
Bahart’s scheduled ferry services connect 16 towns, operating daily during the peak season to ensure connectivity between the two shores of Lake Balaton, allowing visitors to explore the renovated marinas in Fonyód and Balatonfüred, turizmus.com reports.
On the busiest routes—between Fonyód and Badacsony, and between Siófok, Balatonfüred, and Tihany—the schedule includes 10 departures each way daily, with late-evening return trips from Thursday through Sunday.

Similar to last year, the Révfülöp–Balatonboglár ferry service—which is extremely popular among cyclists—will again include Balatonlelle this year, and the company is offering two daily round trips on the Balatonalmádi–Alsóörs–Tihany route. On the other routes, the boats will operate according to the previously established schedule.
Bahart will provide more frequent sightseeing boat departures from late May through mid-September, using two vintage sightseeing boats each from Balatonfüred and Keszthely.
Throughout the summer, sightseeing boats will depart from a total of 15 ports. Of the three oldest boats, the ‘Kelén’ in Siófok, the ‘Jókai’ in Balatonfüred, and the ‘Helka’ in Keszthely will provide leisurely cruises around the lake. The evening program will continue to be rounded out by the sight of the sunset and a glass of champagne.
This year’s lineup of sightseeing boats once again includes favorites among families and young people. In addition to the Kids’ Boat departing from eight ports and the Party Boat available at nine ports, the evening Chill Boat will once again depart from Siófok and Balatonfüred. Moreover, the Kalap Jakab concert boat—which entertains the youngest passengers—will depart from three southern shore ports (including Balatonboglár and Fonyód for the first time). During the August 20 holiday weekend, program boats tied to the evening fireworks and events will offer passengers a special experience.

Bahart continues to offer a wide range of discounts to those who choose the most unique way to explore Lake Balaton.
For families, tickets for the family fare—which offers even greater savings than last year and applies to scheduled, sightseeing, and children’s boats—can now be purchased in advance online at jegy.bahart.hu.

Cyclists can continue to travel at a discounted price on numerous bike-friendly routes.
In addition, elementary school children presenting their Kajla Pass can ride scheduled boats for free until the end of summer break.

The popularity of Lake Balaton boat travel is growing year by year, a trend significantly driven not only by the well-maintained vintage boats but also by the new ferries and catamarans, as these are used by more than one million passengers annually.
In the first six months of the year, Bahart’s ships already carried 730,000 passengers, exceeding last year’s record figures by 1–2%.
The holidays—Easter, the May 1 long weekend, and Pentecost—brought exceptional results. However, the windy spring weather and the June heatwave slightly dampened the desire to travel during the day.
Ferries operate from Szántódrév between 7:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. and from Tihanyrév between 7:15 a.m. and 11:45 p.m.—though during peak periods, they may run continuously to serve passengers. The extensive renovation of the ferry terminals does not interfere with boat departures or traffic.
