    As recent September data from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) states, the average gross salary is now almost HUF 700,000 (EUR 1 819), while the net salary has reached HUF 475,000 (EUR 1 234; EUR 1 = HUF 385). Salaries rose by around 10 percent over the course of a year, boosted by higher family tax allowances that came into effect in July. Real wages have risen again, while median earnings are also climbing at a double-digit rate. The median net earnings are HUF 397,400, which is 11.1 percent higher than the September 2024 level.

    The latest September figures from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) state, that wages in Hungary have continued to rise, reported Index. The average gross earnings of full-time workers in September 2025 were HUF 687,100, representing an annual increase of 9.5 percent. The average net wage rose to HUF 475,100, which is 10 percent higher than a year earlier.

    The KSH emphasized that the increased family tax allowance, effective from July 1, 2025, contributed significantly to the increase in net wages.

    The so-called regular gross average earnings, excluding bonuses and rewards, amounted to HUF 660,400, which is 9.3 percent higher than in September 2024. The regular gross wage was HUF 656,300 in businesses, HUF 664,200 in the budgetary sector, and HUF 689,200 in non-profit organizations, corresponds to annual growth of 8.6, 11.2, and 10.2 percent, respectively.

    Real earnings also increased: the rise was 5.5 percent, while consumer prices rose by 4.3 percent annually. The gross median earnings were HUF 568,700, that is 10.4 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.

    Between January and September 2025, the average gross salary of full-time employees was HUF 691,200, while the average net salary was HUF 476,000. Gross salaries were 9.1 percent higher than a year earlier, while net salaries were 9.2 percent higher.
