With the fall season off to a rainy and cool start, the rain should come to an end Wednesday morning across the D.C. region, but cooler weather will continue.
Even though on-and-off showers remain possible during the morning and midday, it will be drier, but cool and breezy in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-60s, with northeast winds occasionally gusting 20 to 30 mph.
It will be chilly during the overnight hours with temperatures falling to the upper 40s. If you are outside during that time, it recommended that you should have on a warm jacket.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy and breezy with temperatures in the mid-60s. Friday is expected to be warmer with temperatures in the lower 70s. However, 7News Meteorologist Eileen Whelan said that there will be “a developing coastal storm that’ll be staying offshore.”
Although it’s not expected to affect the region directly, “It will bring us some brisk northwest winds heading into the weekend,” Whelan said, adding that wind gusts could reach 30 mph on Saturday and Sunday.
If you are planning to go to the Oceans Calling music festival in Ocean City this weekend, be aware that wind gusts could reach 35 to 40 mph.
But if you stay local, the first weekend of autumn will bring sunshine and temperatures in the 70s.
