Liberal Waverly Councillor Michelle Stephenson criticises the Victorian government for their response to the illicit tobacco trade by hiking up “cigarettes even more”.
“In Victoria we started to see things heat up and what does the government do? What is the government response? We’re going to hike up cigarettes even more,” Ms Stephenson said.
“They’ve known about this for the last two years, and they’re not doing anything to curb it.
“My issue is, look at alcohol tax, that’s going to be next.”
