The options: appoint an independent special counsel or hear testimony in a separate hearing to help get to the bottom of the scandal.</p><p><b>What's alleged</b>: Prosecutor Sheri Mecklenburg has been accused of improperly speaking with grand jurors, putting her credibility on the line to secure charges and excusing grand jurors who disagreed with the case — a claim she has denied. U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros' office has also been accused of a cover-up.</p><p><b>At issue</b>: The six former defendants were part of a crowd that allegedly pushed and damaged a federal agent's SUV outside of the immigration holding facility in Broadview. Among the spots on our list:</p><p>All Seasons Orchard, Woodstock<br>Honeycrisp variety apples are a draw here — and they go fast, orchard reps told us. For the family, there's a ropes course, petting zoo, a <a class="Link" href="https://newsletters.suntimes.com/t/t-l-ydjkihky-l-tu/" target="_blank" >Dolly Parton-themed corn maze</a> and more.</p><p>Curtis Orchard, Champaign<br>Beyond the apples, they've got story time for kids, pony rides, horse-drawn wagon rides and three Wizard of Oz-themed corn mazes.</p><p>Edwards Orchard, Poplar Grove<br>This orchard boasts 50,000 apple trees with more than 30 varieties.
